As you all know SharePoint has a new theme engine for 2010. You can do cool things such as create a theme in PowerPoint, export it and then import it into SharePoint 2010, click apply and you got a custom theme.
OK, this is a cool new feature, but what if you want to change the master.page?
Custom MasterPage
You can create your custom master using Visual Studio 2010. For this you will need to have a clean masterpage. With this you are ready to start branding your SharePoint site look&feel.
